As always, requesting access to the beta doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get in, but at least you’ll have a chance of being shortlisted. You can do this via your web browser, or through your Steam client on PC. To sign up, all you have to do is go to the game’s official Steam page, scroll down a little to find a box titled “Join the Uninitialized” and click the button that says “Request access”. The Outlast Trials doesn’t have a set release date just yet, but developers Red Barrel have announced that the closed beta will be starting this October. The Outlast Trials – How to Sign Up for the Closed Beta Case in point, here’s how to sign up for The Outlast Trials closed beta. since we’re taking this from a judgmental pov.We got a whole bunch of exciting new game announcements at Gamescom 2022, and while most of these games won’t be releasing for a while, some of them do have betas that players can start signing up for. im not trying to be rude here please don’t take it as that, just offering the same critical energy. same with Chris walker in the first game if you’re running and juke him fast enough there’s a small percentage for a melee hit and not a grab/kill. a giant woman with huge leg strides and with the only knowledge of killing those who “disgrace god” and a giant-like-172772 foot scythe could, yes, kill you in one hit. I feel like this falls under that critique which doesn’t stand here. outlast gets critiques for not being able to fight back but that’s what sets this game apart from the others. marta’s story is powerful, I think if you really immersed yourself in the universe and the playstyle you’d understand. i just genuinely believe you’re taking this specific section the wrong way. speaking of which the heavy part of temple gate chasing mobs begin more often after this. Marta isn’t the most prominent chasing characters as the members of temple gate are more made to chase you. if you run past her and near the hit box she’ll hit you but running counts as if she’s smacking you with a melee. just run up the higher trail and run around her.

this is near the beginning and is somewhat a trial along w ur very first encounter to practice saving stamina to run. I really hope the Red Barrels team learns from their mistakes and make stealth a useful mechanic in the Outlast Trials, and relegate sprinting to when the player needs to escape pursuing enemies.ĮDIT: Hiding in the dark is also almost useless now, since most common enemies have flashlights, night vision if you’re Marta or a Scalled, or a lantern like Val.Īs a seasoned speed runner Marta isn’t supper bad in this part. Even if she sees you, you've got a better chance of surviving this way than you do by attempting to sneak around her. In conclusion: the best option for this part is to say fuck stealth, and just sprint around the houses and to the elevator. If you're in a barrel and she spots you and pulls you out, she'll instantly attack you with no chance to even escape. If Marta attacks you outside of a hidey-hole, she instantly kills you regardless of how much health you have, or what the difficulty level is. One of two events will play out: Marta will walk all the way into the grass no matter how far back you are, and instantly kill you (because of course she does), or she'll use her superhuman hearing to hear Blake crawling in the grass from the other side of the area. Well my friend, that doesn't work either. Well, I'll just crouch in the grass you say. So after being spotted you try to find a hiding spot, but all of the houses in the area rich with spots to hide become inexplicably locked for no reason aside from one open window Marta can't follow you into. Once Marta rounds the corner, she's pretty much bound to see Blake regardless how far away you are, or how hidden you are. The enemy AI is much better than the first game, but it doesn't make up for how poor the handful of enemy encounters are. I'm now going though the game with a judgmental mindset, and the flaws are really apparent.ĭuring the first real run-in with Marta after you power on the generator, Outlast 2's inferior enemy design became very noticeable. I recently got Outlast 2, and have played through it twice now.
